TIE DYE DRESS: Ivy City Co // SHOES: Sam Edelman // CHLOE'S SHOES: Freshly Picked // BOW: Sophia Rose Bows // TOMMY'S TOP: J Crew

Gahh! These matching tie dye dresses are seriously the prettiest mommy and me pieces, I've ever seen. I'm all about the tie dye right now so you can imagine how excited I was when I found out that there was a mini version of this dress. Ivy City Co released their "Lovers Collection" and I seriously want everything. These dresses are apart of the collection and I know they'll sell fast. There's only so many years that Chloe will match with me so I'm soaking up as much of it as I can.

Chloe turned 18 months last week so that calls for a little post sharing all her milestones that I'm so proud of. Plus a few random things about little miss sassy pants.

Chloe talks so much. She's speaking and understand a lot of Vietnamese and a bit of English. Her favorite words are (in Vietnamese) I want to eat, play, change my diaper, uh-oh, bye, and hi. She started catching up on a bit on English 2 weeks ago and says "where are you" and "what are you doing" A LOT!

Chloe started telling me last week when she pees and insist on getting a fresh diaper every time she does. I think potty training is going to happen very soon.

Chloe "brushes" and combs her own teeth and hair.

Chloe is trying so hard to jump right now. Watching her "jump" is seriously the cutest thing! She loves dancing and "jumping" to music

Chloe only feeds herself. Since she was about 6-8 months, she hasn't allowed me to feed her. She eats more sugary sweets than I want but enjoys zucchini and broccoli so I'm still winning.

Chloe is your typical "baby". She gets into everything, spills food and water, trashes the entire house, plays with baby dolls, throws little fits when she doesn't get her way, and all of that. Liam was so good and I never had to worry about him getting into things. Chloe is the complete opposite.

Chloe is starting to learn to enjoy tv. Up until last week, she had no interest in movies and shows. I'm not going to lie, its nice being able to put on a show while I work and letting her watch for half an hour or so.

Chloe is her own little person. She's in so many way just like me, sweet but very very sassy. I can't make her do everything I want but I also see how much independence in her. She loves being held and loved and I won't ever ever stop.

WRAP BRACELET: Victoria Emerson (SALE!)

I can’t believe we’re halfway through the first month of January. Before we know it, it’ll be Christmas again! Totally kidding! I’m really excited for this year because I have a strong feeling that there will be tons of changes. Have yall been staying strong with your new year’s resolution? One of my goals for my blog this year is to share more styling tips and sales! I don’t think there’s a single person out there that doesn’t love a sale.

My favorite jewelry brand; Victoria Emerson, is having a huge private sale from January 16th-21st. There are tons of wrap bracelets on sale! I’ve been wearing their wrap bracelets for over a year now and absolutely love how they go with everything, the natural colors, and the high quality. One of 2020’s top jewelry trends are wearing natural toned pieces. It’s not all about flashy diamonds and sparkle sparkle. Bracelets and earrings that we can wear everyday make it fun, easy, and versatile. Victoria Emerson has a huge selection of freshwater pearl wrap bracelets in gold, brown, black, and white. I love this gold one because I wear a lot of white, beige, and pink so I knew it would match majority of my closet.

I styled these bracelets with this dress to help bring it to life. This dress is darling but I wanted to give it that extra sparkle and flare. This entire outfit would be perfect for an upcoming wedding, church, lunch with your girlfriends, or dinner. Another way to style this entire outfit is to swap the heels out for sneakers and add a thick tan belt. The sneakers bring a bit of and edgy street style to it and gives off an effortless vibe. If you’re wearing a midi dress with sneakers, I think the dainty pieces like this bracelet would complement the look.

*Thank you Gordmans for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own

Our family is going through so many changes in 2020. We’re kicking off this year with 3 children. A number that outnumbers the parents. As yall know, Easton came to live with us the second half of last year so this will be our first full year with him. Tommy’s contract also ends in October so he’ll be getting out of the military and moving in with us in Houston. We’re starting this year fresh with new goals for our family; to create more memorable moments at home.

Traveling is something that I absolutely love and cherish. Growing up, my mom raised 4 children on her own. She worked 50+ hours a week, 365 days of the year, to give us everything and more. We didn’t travel for 12+ years. So, as an adult, I do want to see more of the world. With that being said, when I look back at my favorite moments as a child, they were all spent at home with my siblings and mom.

For a while, I thought that I needed to take my children to all these cool extravagant places in order for them to be in pure happiness. That those moments were the only ones that they’ll remember for years and years. I’ve learned that those memorable moments can be made at home, not just on trips, birthdays, or holidays. Liam often comes up to me and ask me “Mom, do you remember when we built a huge fort in our old house in Colorado and played in the snow?”. Liam was almost 3 years old when that happened and it amazes me that he remembers that day, which was just a regular day at home.

When we lived in Colorado, we rented townhouses and it never truly felt like home. It felt like another place we were living in for the next year. I want our family to come home and feel like they’re home. Those “home-y” vibes that makes you want to sit on the sofa, relax, light a warm candle, and never leave.

After we took the Christmas decorations down, our house felt and looked empty! I wanted to redecorate our home in neutral pieces so that they would last all year round. I took the boys to Gordmans to pick out some new home décor and ended up finding TONS of decorations that were really affordable. Gordmans is an off-price retailer which means they buy excess inventory from department and specialty stores and then sell it at greatly reduced prices. I had 2 whole carts of home pieces and when I checked out, it ended up being less than $200 to decorate my entire living room and the playarea. Gordmans is an off-price retailer that offers a huge selection on beauty, decor, fashion, and more. The location in Rosenberg, Tx has one of the biggest home sections I’ve ever seen.

Some tips that I’ve learned about home décor is not leaving too many empty walls. I put this “You & Me” sign up in the children’s playroom because it looked like a random area where we threw our toys. Putting pictures of our family made our home feel like ours. For the living room, I think we all want to come home and dive into our comfy sofa. I picked up tons of neutral colored pillows for the sofa so our family could cozy up together. My primary colors are black, white, and tan. I love the modern tones of these colors and when spring, summer, fall, and winter come around again, I can easily add pops of colors.

We’ve been spending a lot more time at home and I love these 5 activities that yall can try out too!

1)   Pizza Night! The boys absolutely love making their own pizzas and continue to ask about the next pizza night. Instead of ordering pizza or getting a frozen one, make it a night by making your own. It’s also a lot easier than it seems. We buy premade dough at the grocery store, toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, ect), mozzarella cheese, and red pizza sauce.

2)   Create a family photo board! My children love looking at pictures, so we put together this board with a favorite moment that they each chose. We hung it up on our living room walls. Gordmans has a great selection of picture wall décor that you can pick up.

3)   Make a family art poster! I picked up some canvas boards and oil pastels and drew out family pictures. With the oil pastels it makes the posters look more like art versus a pieces of printer paper the children scribbled on.

4)   Camp Night Indoors! Here in Texas, the weather isn’t the greatest so camping indoors was a big thing for me growing up. We haven’t done this our children yet but I’d love to buy an affordable tent, hang lights up, fill the tent with blankets, read books, and bake some smore’s.

5)    Board Game Night! Pop open a board game and pick out some of your families favorite snacks and drinks. Since I grew up in the 90’s our family nights were filled with board games and puzzles, not Netflix. Pictionary and monopoly were some of my favorites growing up. There are several kid friendly boards games out there and of course the classics as your children get older.

New York City is a city that I will love forever. This was the third time visiting the big apple in 2019 but this time it was different. The last time I was in the city during the holidays was when Tommy proposed to me in 2015. Even though, I had been back numerous of times without him, being there during the holidays brought back so many memories.

Margret and I had been talking about taking a winter trip and New York City was top on our list. The holidays have been crazy so we needed a girls trip. We wanted to stay somewhere that was near all of the attractions we had on our list. We stayed at Cambria Hotel New York in Time Square and it was in a great location. We rarely took an Uber and time square was right downstairs. We had several restaurants and shopping around us too. We stayed on the 20th floor and had a view of the city right outside our window. Our room was VERY spacious and our king size bed was really comfortable. There are 3 things that I always look for in a hotel and that's cleanliness, customer service, and comfy beds, our hotel checked off all of those. There's also a neighbor restaurant on the first floor that serves Italian food so if you're in the mood to stay in for the night, the food is really good!

We kept our trip very relaxed and didn't really plan an itinerary. We had a few things on our list that we had to see like Bryant park and 5th avenue but for the most part, we winged it. Here's what we did and really enjoyed!

If you're looking for tons of Christmas knick knacks, gifts, clothes, or pretty much anything festive, Bryant Park has tons of little shops set up. There are food and drink stands, ice skating, and of course the famous Rockefeller Christmas Tree.

This is very similar to Bryant Park but on a smaller scale. I personally like the shops at Union Park better because there was a bigger variety of things; organic baby clothes, custom made toys, jewelry, and more. It is on the other side of where all the other tourist attractions are but if you're in the area, stop by!

If you go to NYC during Christmas this should be the #1 thing you do/see. The show was truly incredible and gets you in the Christmas spirit. I would go see this show again in a heartbeat. It's children friendly as well.

Window viewing on 5th Avenue and Saks
NYC is known for all of their beautiful storefront window displays, especially the Macy's. Sakes 5th Avenue stepped their game up this year with a beautiful light show right outside of their store. It gets really busy but it's worth it if you're already in the area.

Lillies is a Victorian styled restaurant that is decorated to the nine. NYC is known for their decorations and this restaurant was amazing. We didn't get a chance to eat here because the wait was long but it's a great place to grab a drink at the bar and see the decorations.

The famous Grand Central Terminal has so much more than what some of us may think. There are tons of mini shops and a massive selection of food. There's also a lower level that is filled with grab and go food. This place is such an iconic NYC place, I know we've seen it in tons of movies. It really is a beautiful place.

Lottee Hotel is where the famous massive Christmas Tree is. It's also "Chuck Bass's" hotel. I'm a huge gossip girl fan so going here is a must. It's a great spot to snap a family picture for memories.

The Nordstrom opened up in 2019 and it's MASSIVE! There are over 5+ restaurants and bars inside and truly is shopping experience. They had Santa and his elves come out and sing every few hours and it really did make us feel like we were in a NYC Christmas movie. If you're wanting to avoid the street shopping, Nordstrom has tons of floors and you can get all your shopping done in one place.

We didn't get the chance to go to Central Park but I went a few years ago and if the weather permits, it's nice to walk around, take in the scenery, grab hot chocolate, and skate.

I'm already planning on coming back this Christmas season with Tommy. I think NYC during Christmas is something to add to your travel bucket list for sure!

TOP: Xersion  // BOTTOM: Xersion // JACKET: Xersion // SHOES: Adidas

Let’s talk about New Year’s Resolutions! Do you set goals for yourself at the beginning of every year or do you typically give yourself goals throughout the year? One of my resolutions this year is getting back into shape. I know, I know, you’ve heard probably tons of people say “my new year’s resolution is getting skinny and fit”. I’ve given myself this goal every year, to only have it last a few months or I find excuses like “I just had a baby and I want more” or “it’s too late now”.
This year IS going to be different because Tommy and I are done having babies and it’s never too late to get healthy and active. I’m starting myself with goals that are attainable for myself. Instead of telling myself, “work out every day”, I’m telling myself “workout 30 minutes twice a week, every week." Results happen over time but surely if it’s consistent. I’m focusing on being positive and loving my body but also accepting that there’s room for improvement. These pictures of me are real and I am strong.

I’ve been going to the gym here and there these past few months, but I wanted to start fresh. I picked some really great activewear pieces from JCPenney. JCPenney carries a huge selection of affordable high-quality active wear clothes and shoes. I typically wear black but wanted to try out something new. I picked up these military green pants and sports bra and they’re my current go to pieces. I’ve tried out a handful of Xersion pieces and the quality is just as great as the more expensive brands, but for half the price. I also found these Adidas sneakers and I love them for running and light weight lifting.

I’ve used the BBG app before I was pregnant with Chloe and it’s the best workout I’ve ever had. The app truly helps keep track of your progress, teaches you step by step, and works! I recommend trying it out if you’re working out at home or if you’re needing directions

Whenever I go to the gym, I typically start with a one-mile workout and alternate on arm and back machines, leg machines, and abs. I focus on 4 different types of workouts and do 4 sets of 12.

My goal is to post an update picture of my progression every 30 days to hold myself accountable. It’s NEVER too late to start getting healthier and active. We just have to take that first step and get the ball rolling. Make 2020 the year that you get fit and improve on your health!
