A TOY STORY HALLOWEEN...

Happy Halloween everyone!! First off, to the family that do the family costumes every year, you deserve a metal. Finding family costumes isn't as easy as it seems. Tommy and I went through 3 different ideas before finding out that not everything is available in sizes for babies, toddlers, or adults. We decided last minute to do Toy Story and it was a hit. Liam has actually done Toy Story costumes two other years (Woody one year and Buzz Lightyear another). We wanted to change it up because we've already done the original characters. Toy Story 4 was such an amazing movie with fun and different new characters (minus Rex). Going as the new characters would be different and it was such a hit, especially Forky! Liam being Forky was the finniest thing, lol. The character alone is so silly. The kids were so happy about our family costumes and that's all that matter. I even put the Gabby Gabby costume on (for 20 minutes) before it got too cold. Tommy was going to be a ventriloquist doll and it would have completed everything but he got to Houston too late. Let's hope for a full family costume next year!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween night! We're meeting up with Margret and her family again and the kids are so excited to start Trick Or Treating!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

BOO...

TEES: Kayla T Krafts // JEANS: 7 For All Mankind // SHOES: Vince Camuto // HAT: Vici // Chloe- SHOES: Freshly Picked

When it comes to Halloween, I'm honestly so lame. I don't like dressing up or putting costumes on, god forbid someone try to paint my face. This will be my first year putting a costume on with my children and they're so excited! When you're a mom, sometimes you have to suck it up. We're going as the Toy Story 4 cast and the boys haven't stopped staring at their costumes. It's suppose to be 40 degrees tomorrow so hopefully we make it to at least 10 houses.

These tee's were as festive as I was going to get during the month of October. I absolutely love all the graphic Halloween tees so I asked my cousin, Kayla to make some for us. They turned out so cute and the fact that Chloe and I are matching makes it even better! Chloe is so ready for trick or treating. She copies everything her brothers do so I know she's going to be waddling up the houses with them. What are everyones plans for Halloween? Going out or passing out candy?

FINDING THE RIGHT FOOD FOR YOUR BABY...

This post has been sponsored by Gerber. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

As parents, I think we always hear things like “if your first baby was well behaved, your second will probably give you a lot of trouble” or “if the first one was easy to care for, the next one won’t". I didn’t believe it until my precious Chloe was born. Liam was EXTREMELY easy to care for, feed, put to sleep, etc. Chloe is such a good little girl, but she definitely wasn’t as easy as Liam. Chloe knew what she wanted the minute she was born, and I have to say that she has gotten her way. She loves being held constantly, being cuddled to sleep, knows how to cry and yell when someone doesn’t give her a toy, and knows what she likes and dislikes.

Recently, I found it difficult to feed her certain foods. Sometimes she refuses to eat; she only wants to drink milk. Liam literally ate everything in his sight. After giving her over 10 different dishes, I realized why she was being picky. She likes food that she can actually chew and work for, not just food that slides down her throat that she had been used to before she turned one.

She has been eating NEW Gerber® Lil’ Mixers™ and from how fast she eats it, I’d say she’s a big fan of the flavor and texture of the food. Gerber® Lil’ Mixers are nutritious, don’t have any artificial colors or ingredients, are simply made, and are easy to prepare. Another great thing about it is that I can customize the texture as little or as much as she wants! There are 8 different flavor combinations, and Chloe favors the Vegetable Chicken with Mixed Grains and Carrots. They’re available at Walmart, and it’s easy to swing by the baby aisle to restock your pantry. Use this Ibotta offer next time you're there! I enjoy shopping at Walmart because the prices are low and they carry pretty much everything we could possibly need.

Chloe is currently in a phase where she’ll only eat when she’s feeding herself. She won’t let anyone feed it to her. Thankfully, our highchair has a table. We give her a baby friendly spoon, a cup of Gerber® Lil’ Mixers, and she goes to town. It's great that she can eat them mixed together or separate, especially during lunchtime! She may get food all over the table, ground, and herself, but at least she’s learning and getting the right nutrients. That’s what’s most important.

We’re usually never at the house during the week. Gerber® Lil’ Mixers is easy to bring on the go and is quick to clean up. I pack some in my bag so I’m ready for when she’s hungry on the spot. Chloe has real mealtimes with Lil’ Mixers.

She’s growing up so fast and she doesn’t even know it. She reminds me of myself in so many ways. She’s sassy, very forward, needs around-the-clock attention, and loves eating. Yep, she’s definitely my daughter.

Thank you so much for reading!

MY THOUGHTS ON NYFW...

HI!! I've been meaning to get to this post live a few weeks ago, but life happened. I'm finally sitting here getting it done!

When I first heard that bloggers went to NYFW, I was thinking to myself, "I'll never get on that level to be able to attend". At the beginning of this year, I learned that NYFW isn't just for influencers, models, or "special" people. It's open to everyone. When we think of NYFW, we typically think of models walking everywhere while getting their pictures taken, runway models walking down, and everything in between. Yes, some of it is like that but there is so much more. There are many show rooms that we can access by simply sending an email. The shows are probably the last on my agenda to be completely honest. I've attended a couple and was only inspired by one. For me, visiting NYFW is more for the experience, to meet with brands that I have worked with and love, meet new people, eat a lot of food, and enjoy the new work environment for the week.

This season was actually pretty calm for me. Even with it being calm, something was always on our agenda. I think the thing about working and traveling is finding a balance between work work work and actually enjoying the destination. Whenever I had down time, I'd text our group to see who would be back at our hotel and then explore the city. We stayed at Innside by Melia again and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. The location is central, 10 minute walk from the Flat Iron Building, 5 minutes from delicious restaurant, and the hotel is beautiful and open. We stayed there last February and it was a pleasure to be back. (Full Hotel Review Here). We were able to grab brunch this time inside their restaurant and if there's a spot to get brunch in NY, it's here. I was telling the girls that I could have skipped out on the day just to sit here and eat. When we're in NY, we barely have time to eat so being able to get a real meal was a game changer. The hotel has a great lounge area, two bars, outdoor seating, and clean rooms.

Honestly, as far as food goes, I haven't had anything bad in NY. That is a solid truth. I've eaten at maybe 15 different places over the course of all my trips and the food there is truly amazing. Especially Italian food. Whenever we were craving anything, we simply googled "Italian restaurants near me" and pick one. Roselyn and I went to China Town and Little Italy one day and got to see all the food stands and try out some ramen. I feel that if it has 3.8 stars (out of 5) or above, it's pretty good.

When it comes to transportation, I definitely regret taking so many Ubers. $8-$15 here and there doesn't sound like much but it adds up quickly! I highly recommend learning how to use the subway or preparing to walk a lot. There were a couple of times where we walked long distances and it was so pleasant. I was soaking up all of New York. In Houston, the weather and grunginess kinda prevents that most months of the year.

It's always an incredible opportunity to be able to attend NYFW. I've met other fellow bloggers that have been following for years, met with incredible PR Agencies and brands, and truly put myself out there. I feel like a different version of myself when I'm there and it's always so much fun.

WHERE TO SHOP FOR AFFORDABLE SWEATERS...

What's your magic number when it comes shopping? For me, I love shoes under $100, jeans under $100, and all tops and coats under $50. I found these two adorable at JCPenney and the quality, fit, and styles are like a $100 sweater. This rust colored sweater is easy to wear with jeans or a midi skirt and compliments scarves. It also comes in an olive color as well. This orange grid sweater is SUPER soft and cozy! I could sleep in it and love the grid pattern. It's under $20 and runs TTS. I've been shopping at JCPenney for over a decade and they continue to have huge selection of fall pieces at affordable prices. I still remember my mom taking me to shop at JCPenney when I was young and now, I enjoy taking my mom and grandma there to buy them gifts.

Our trip to Seattle was much needed. It has been 4+ years since we've traveled together, let alone have any alone time together. The weather was a breath of fresh air, the food was amazing, and the time Tommy and I spent together will be cherished for years. I'm working on sharing everything we did, where we stayed, ect this week so stay tuned!

Thank you so much for reading!

ACTUAL SWEATER WEATHER...

SWEATER: VICIDOLLS (similar here and here) // JEANS: 7 For All Man Kind // SHOES: Vince Camuto (similar here) // HAT: Lack of Color // BAG: Gucci

Our first day in Seattle was absolutely amazing! Tommy and I needed this trip. We haven't taken a trip alone or really had much alone time since we got engaged in 2015. Isn't that crazy to think? Between work and children, life has been extremely busy for us. We have a lot planned this trip but we're mostly excited to be together. We've already talked about our children 10+ times so I think we're off to a great start, lol.

Before, we left, I bought tons of fall pieces from VICI and love the selections that they carry. This sweater was one of their new releases and it fits the colors of the season perfectly. It's 20% off with code: ANNIE20. I wore it with jeans and these over the knee boots that I bought from the Nordstrom Sale in July. It's the perfect combination of chic and cozy.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

THIS IS OUR WHOLE FAMILY...

This is our whole family; Tommy, Annie, Liam, Chloe, AND Easton.

I've been thinking about the perfect way to write this post for months and realize that there isn't a perfect way to share the story that I'm about to share. Today, we're sharing news about this strong, kind, and brave little boy, Easton. Easton has been apart of our lives for over 5 years and about 3 months ago, he started living with us full time. Easton is a 5 year old boy that has gone through something heartbreaking and horrific. About 3 months ago, Easton's mother and grandmother passed away in a horrible boat accident. He lost his whole world in a blink of an eye. No child should ever have to wonder through life without the love of their mother. Easton has conquered an insane amount of emotions, life adjustments, and changes. Even though he has suffered more heartbreak than one can possibly imagine, he has managed to stay strong and positive. Easton is a very very well behaved boy, he's extremely kind and sincere to his little sister, and loves playing with his little brother. He's a quick learner, loves playing outside, going to waterparks, going to the museums and zoos, eating a crazy amount of junk food, making new friends and going to school. Easton will accomplish so many things in his life, he's already overcame something that not everyone can recover from and continues to be strong.

The first two months was very hard for everyone, myself included. There were a lot of tears, mental breakdowns, confusion, denial, and frustration. We weren't ready to share this new life publicily, nor did we think the timing was appropriate. Easton said his final goodbyes to his mother last week and I've seen a lot of courage and acceptance from him. Even though he's 5 years old, I fully believe that he knows what has happened. We pray to God and talk to his mom in heaven as often as we remember and it has brought peace and understanding to him. Easton's life story isn't going to be that his mom passed away when he was 5, he will create his own story and it'll be so so much more than that. I fully believe that his mom is always watching over him, guiding him, and smiling every time he smiles. Our family is deeply heartbroken by her passing and know that all we can do now is to love him whole heartedly, care for him, and give him a family.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about Easton and our family.

STOCKING UP FOR MOVIE NIGHTS...

Sponsored by Albertsons Companies. As always, all opinion are my own.

Movie nights will forever be our family’s favorite thing to do. Something about snuggling up on the sofa, eating delicious snacks, and watching a humorous cartoon brings us comfort. Sometimes, we go all out and even build a huge fort and hang little strings of lights. Plus, it’s easy to arrange because we don't have to leave the house because everything is already here. Our pantry is usually filled with snacks for weekends like these.

Our family enjoys shopping at Randalls because they carry everything we need, it’s well organized, and they have great deals! When we shop at Randalls, we use the Randalls mobile app to see the latest deals and save on select items. Our family is so big, so we try to save where we can.

From October 2nd - October 15th, Randalls will be having their Stock Up Sale. It will include tons of items like Coca-Cola products, Kettle Chips, SkinnyPop, Snyder's Pretzels, Goldfish Crackers, and Smartwater. I purchased these products and more at my local Randalls, but you can also shop the Stock Up Sale and save at any of the Albertsons Companies Family of Stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Shaw's, Star Market, and Carrs/Safeway.
The products mentioned in this post are on sale at the Albertsons Companies of Stores from October 2nd - 15th. Products on sale at Albertsons Companies retailers may differ.

Visit the Randalls website to find a store near you and discover some fun meal-prep tips and recipe ideas! A lot of the items are food/snacks that you can truly buy in bulk and store for the next couple of months. A lot of the items are great for parties, travel snacks, and of course, movie snacks and drinks.

I always go for salty pretzels during our movie nights and thankfully, they were part of the Stock Up Sale! Tommy goes for Kettle Chips and water. It’s all about balance. Tommy and I share such a love for movies, and we love that we now share that love with our entire family. We haven’t run into much trouble about fighting over which movie to watch, so we hope it stays that way for a long time. That’s me really, really hoping!

Annie
