A EASY AND QUICK FALL #OOTD...

DRESS: Chicwish (cream color version here) // SHOES: Sam Edelman (OTK version here) // BAG: Gucci

This week has flown by so fast. Granted, I was on vaycay for the 1st half of the week, but still. We have plans to go apple picking on Sunday and we’re SO excited, lol. Our friends are making fun of Tommy and I because we are legit excited. We’re basic sometimes and we can’t help it. Growing up in Texas, pumpkin patches and fruit picking were not a thing. Pumpkin patches were typically in church lawns or parking lot. Yes, a parking lot, lol.

Yall might have seen this dress on my Instagram a few times and that’s because I’ve worn it at least once a week. On my lazy days where I don’t feel like putting on a lot of effort, this dress with boots is my go to outfit. I’m slowly starting my collection of sweater dresses for the cold weather seasons.

REASONS FOR TRAVELING TO TEXAS SO OFTEN...

TOP: Chicwish // JACKET: Blank NYC // JEANS: AG // SHOES: Vince Camuto // BAG: Gucci // Liam- TOP: Zara (similar here) // BOTTOMS: Zara (similar here) // SHOES: Converse

I'm currently writing this post at 1 a.m.  I'm pretty sure that I've only had 7 hours of sleep the night prior but we do what we love. The past 5 days back at home were so great. I'm pretty sure I've gained 10 pounds eating everything in my sight. The 5 macaroons everyday probably doesn't help either, lol. My sister moved into her apartment and she has THE BEST apartment pool ever! It was like Christmas morning for Liam. He was running around kicking and diving into the water.

The past couple of days, a few of yall have asked me why I travel to Houston so often versus going to a new city/state. Reason #1 would be that I'm a homebody. I have two homes, one here in Colorado and one in Texas. With Tommy's job, he's frequently gone for days/weeks at a time, so I take that time to travel home to see my family. I grew up in a huge household and my aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents lived in the same town. We were and are still extremely close. Growing up, there were always children and family members running around. Quiet houses actually creep me out, lol. I love being around my family and I want Liam to be just as close to everyone as I am. My father-in-law also lives in the same town and we always grab dinner every single time I visit. He enjoys spending time with Liam. I think it's important for Liam to grow strong relationships with all of his family members.

Reason #2: Being away from a big city gives me anxiety, lol. Yes, you heard right. Denver is nothing compared to Houston. Don't get me wrong, Denver is super pretty and clean but there's only so much you can do. In Houston, there's culture, amazing food, and tons of things going on. Again, I love being around a lot of people, it makes me feel safe and at home. Plus, people in the South tend to be a little more friendly.

Reason #3: Flights are dirt cheap! Liam and I fly frontier majority of the time to Houston because we get round trips for under $100!

LEAVES ARE FALLING...

CAMI: Topshop // CARDIGAN: Sun & Shadow // PANTS: Topshop // SHOES: Christian Louboutin // BAG: Gucci // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker

Happy 1st day of Fall!!!! I think most of us can say that we're pretty basic when it comes to everything Fall. PSL and Pumpkin everything, lol. My house is decked out in Fall decor and I have no shame. When October 1st rolls around, it's a pumpkin patch and hot chocolate galore every weekend.

I choose this outfit for my first official fall outfit because of the black and dark orange hues. Black is such a classic color and great for the base of your outfit. The braided detail on this cardigan gives it the perfect touch. This outfit is fall date night approved.

IN THE CITY...

TOP: BP // BOTTOMS: AG // JACKET: Blank NYC // SHOES: Toms // BAG: Gucci // EARRINGS: Kendra Scott

This week has flown by. Tommy left Monday so its just been Liam and I. We’re heading back to Houston tonight for a little mini vacation again. All of my friends are shocked by how frequent I go back to Texas. There’s no place like home, right?

Anyways, about today’s outfit….I picked up this stripe peplum top at Nordstrom and knew that it would be a great top to layer with cardigans/jackets. Stripes are a timeless pattern and compliment all body shapes (in my opinion). I’m bringing this top home with me to wear with shorts because it’s still so so hot. I threw my moto jacket on top and I love how it ties the entire outfit together. It gives it a city chic look. I’ve styled this jacket so many times and I think stripes compliment it the best.

PINK AND BLUE...

DRESS: Chicwish (love this one too) // SHOES: Steve Madden // BAG: Gucci

I don't know about yall but I'm loving how off the shoulders are still in for the Fall. This is probably my very last summer post this season and I saved the best for last. I own this dress in two colors and it's extremely flattering. I love everything from the tiered bell sleeves to the detailed patterns. Liam and I are traveling to Houston this weekend and you bet this dress is coming with me. It might be cool and chilly here but Houston is a forever summer state.

Thank you for stopping by!

AUTUMN GINGHAM...

DRESS: Chicwish // SHOES: Hinge // EARRINGS: Kendra Scott // BAG: Gucci (perfect dupe here

Anyone else wishing that today just didn't happen? I woke up at 5 a.m this morning so that meant a triple shot macchiato from Starbucks to get me going.

I wore this cute gingham dress to Denver last weekend and the darker green colors makes it the perfect Fall dress. Gingham was a go to pattern for me in the summer and expect it to also be a popular pattern for the cooler seasons. Tommy calls it a tablecloth but what does he know, lol. I also wore this dress with sandals for warmer days.

This is super random but I'm not sure what to do with the length of my hair. I love how long it looks when I curl it, but besides that, it's pretty difficult to maintain. When it's straight, it looks too long for life, lol. What should I do? Keep it long or go back to a medium length?

4 STAPLE PIECES THAT YOU'LL NEED FOR FALL...

TEE: BP (similar here) // BOTTOMS: AG // CARDIGAN: Nordstrom (runs big! size down) // SHOES: Hinge // SCARF: BP // BAG: Gucci

Happy Friday! Mornings are already in the 50’s and 60’s here in Colorado. That means that Fall is right around the corner. Today’s post is going to go through a few staple pieces that your fall wardrobe can’t live without.

A white tee or cami is essential when it comes to creating fall outfits. White is always a safe color when putting all of your cardigan outfits togeather (regardless if it’s a neutral color or a bright blue).

Jeans are also a must have! I would say that this is a number #1 piece that you can’t live without. Leggings can only go so far. AG is my favorite brand when it comes to jeans. I’ve talked about them before on my blog but I want to illiterate on how great the quality and fit are. The oldest pair that I have is 4 years old and it looks/feels brand new.

There’s no question that I’m a shoe girl. If I had to go with one pair of shoes for the entire fall, it would be some little taupe booties. Booties are also a great way to transition into fall if you live in a state where the weather doesn't drop until late in the year. I've been wearing tons of off the shoulder dresses and booties these past couple of weeks.

Last but not least, a cardigan. As the weather gets cooler, light and cozy cardigans are perfect for keeping you warm. You can easily throw them over your jeans and tops or even dress it up with a mini dress and dressy booties.
