THE ANNIE ISSUE'S ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY...

DRESS: Free People // SHOES: Valentino (dupes under $200 here!) // CLUTCH: Louis Vuitton (love this one) // EARRINGS: Kendra Scott // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker

Happy Wednesday everyone!

This exact day last year was when I launched The Annie Issue. It's almost surreal that my blog is celebrating it's one year anniversary! I've put everything that I possibly could into my blog and it's definitely been hard, but well worth it. I've met great blogger babes, built relationships with all of you, and worked with some amazing businesses/companies. I launched with this holiday inspired outfit, I remember shooting after a blizzard, we were trying to get through it fast, lol. I wanted to start during this time because I felt that fall and winter were my "prime" times. I have the most ideas and creativity during this time. Plus, who doesn't love being snuggled up in a huge blanket scarf and wearing hunter boots all day, lol. This dress that I'm wearing in today's blog post is by far my favorite LWD. It's a tunic, but if you're short like me, it flies by as a dress. The lace detail is gorgeous, I know I'm going to be wearing it to all my holiday events!

I've learned a lot during this journey that I would like to share with everyone (mainly about growing on Instagram). First off, don't compare yourself to other bloggers, I wasn't growing as fast as I expected, but I was growing strong relationships with my readers and partners. Starting off, I would comment and follow other bloggers and people on Instagram that I thought would appreciate my feed. It really helped because other viewers would see my comments, go take a look at my page, and follow along. I also joined an engagement group, it's basically a group of bloggers that message each other when they have posted and then everyone else would show some love on that post. Another lesson that I've learned that everyone has probably said is, stay consistent...set a goal as far as how many post a week you want to have on your site as well as social media post. I've actually noticed that my following grows the most when I post 2/3 times a day on Instagram. Pinterest helps direct viewers towards my website and that is very important to me. Lastly, reach out to everyone and anyone that you want to work with. Even if that business/companies seems out of reach, you never know. I have relationships that I didn't think I would be able to have until I reached 20K (instagram followers)! Working with local businesses and shops is also very rewarding because you get to get more in depth with your collaboration and build a stronger relationship. I hope this has helped give any insight as to how bloggers grow. If you have any other questions or simply want to chat, feel free to shoot me an email :).

Also, has everyone patiently been waiting for all their orders to get delivered? I've been checking my emails and mailbox almost every other hour to see if my packages have been delivered, lol. It feels like Christmas every time they come. I have a shoot scheduled Saturday to share some holiday looks and exciting collaborations with yall. It's suppose to snow Friday, maybe we'll have some snowy scenery.

Thank you so much for supporting The Annie Issue! I couldn't do it without everyone.

xo,
Annie

THANKSGIVING DAY OUTFIT + CYBER MONDAY GUIDE...

DRESS: Shein // SHOES: Nordstrom (on sale!) // Liam: TOP: Ralph Lauren // JEANS: Old Navy // SHOES: Janie & Jack

Happy best Monday of the year!

I wore this dress on Thanksgiving and it was perfect for the occasion. I loved that it was loose. There was not a single person that could point out my Thanksgiving food baby, lol. I actually tried looking for a white bow to tie at the collar, but I couldn't find one. It would have looked really "Blair Waldorf". Thanksgiving this year is definitely in my top favorites!

Christmas is in full swing and I couldn't be happier. Has everyone had enough of the hectic Black Friday shopping this past weekend? We went to the outlets and it was so overcrowded. It took us 45 minutes just to get out of the parking lot! I mostly do my shopping online because (1) it's easy (2) you can see your entire selection (3) amazing deals. Cyber Monday is one of the last days to snag all your Christmas presents (and something for you) on sale! I rounded up all of my favorites below and deals that are offered today!

Happy shopping!

xo,
Annie

HAPPY THANKSGIVING & BLACK FRIDAY DAY!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I would like to start by saying how thankful I am this year...my husband came back home from deployment safe and sound, we have a healthy and energetic boy, we live in a home that we love, I have the most loving family and friends, and for all of you, I couldn't do it without your support and kind words.

Our family traditions for Thanksgiving is pretty simple, we cook a huge feast together, eat pie and ice-cream, and spend the rest of the day drinking hot cocoa and watching movies together. If we have the energy after eating all the food and black Friday shopping, we typically try to get a Christmas tree within the next few days. We have a lot of shopping plans this year, we're planning on upgrading our tv, getting a dining table, and buying tons of clothes and presents. I rounded up the most recent Black Friday Sales for yall below. The sales this year are REALLY amazing! J Crew has 40% off their entire store for the first time ever and Nordstrom has some really good deals on their clothing and shoes.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

xo,
Annie

FUZZY WHITES + BLACK FRIDAY DEALS...

DRESS: Missguided (similar here) // SHOES: Vince Camuto (old, love these) // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker (these are on sale!) // BAG: Tory Burch (30% off)

Happy pre-Thanksgiving Day! My hubby's birthday is today, he turns 24! He still hasn't decided what he wants to do and it is driving me crazy. I'm a planner and I need to know what's going on. I told him I was running errands yesterday and grabbing lunch with a friend, but I was secretly buying him a bunch of gifts at J Crew and Champs. He's always so easy to shop for...shoes, clothes, cologne, food, or movies (thank god!). If only I was that easy to shop for....lol.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I feel like January was just a few months ago. Thanksgiving is tomorrow and the day after is BLACK FRIDAY! The craziest, most stressful, and best retail day ever. I added a guide below so yall can get the best deals without going insane. It'll also officially be acceptable to put up Christmas lights and sing Christmas songs (even though I've been doing that since mid-October). This dress reminds me of winter, it's super soft and fuzzy. When the weather gets colder, black tights and a pair of booties will look cute with it. I'm wearing a size 4 and it runs a little big.

Annie

SHADES OF NUDE...

TOP: Missguided (under $30) // SKIRT: ASOS (old, similar here) // SHOES: Valentino (great dupes here) // BAG: Gucci // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker // EARRINGS: Kendra Scott // NECKLACE: Baublebar

You may or may not have noticed the ridiculous amount of times that I've worn this sweater. I've styled it white jeans, layered it with a scarf, worn it under my jacket, and my favorite...paired it with a suede skirt. I found it here, it comes in 13 other colors, great quality, and under $30!. It looks exactly like a free people OTS sweater I've seen, but for a fraction of the price.

Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday are sneaking up on us next week and it's the kickoff for the holidays. Which means a lot of crazy times, running around, and last minute errands. My favorite time of the year, lol. Don't you just love it?!

Annie

COLORS OF FALL...

DRESS: Nordstrom // SCARF: BP // SHOES: Old (similar here) // BAG: Gucci // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker // BRACELET: David Yurman // CUFF: Gorjana & David Yurman

Happy Monday everyone!

I've have always chosen dark & mellow colors over bright and vibrant ones. The leaves changing into a beautiful mustard yellow and crisp orange are one of many reasons why I favor fall. Burgundy tones are back this year and they contrast beautifully against neutrals and olive. I love this shift dress that I snagged from Nordstrom, it's soft and affordable. It also looks great with OTK boots or layered with a parka coat for transitioning into winter.

Last week my family went through many changes. Tommy came home from deployment (THANK YOU, GOD!), Liam and I moved back to Colorado, we moved into our new home, and have been getting adjusted to everything. Many of yall have been so kind about Tommy coming home and I would like to thank you. On Tuesday around 11:00 p.m. Liam and I went up to an auditorium on base to wait for Tommy. There were so many families and children holding up signs and feeling ready for their soldier to come home. Liam was knocked out at first because it was late, but woke up about 15 minutes later. I'm assuming the popcorn smell woke him up, lol. At 11:30, the ceremony began, they sang, and honored all the soldiers that were deployed. When they released Tommy, he went towards us as I was struggling to get down from the bleachers with a toddler, lol. He grabbed Liam first and it was beyond sweet. Liam didn't cry or anything, he was just surprised. Tommy could stop smiling when he saw us. Liam surprised as by how well he was doing with Tommy. We've have been catching up on everything since then. Liam and Tommy have been inseparable, he still favors me but I'm sure that with a little more time, they are going to go on many son and father adventures.

Thank you so much for reading!

Annie

Hi everyone!

I rounded up my recent outfits from Instagram this season for yall to easily shop! If you're not signed up for LiketoKnowIt, you can shop my outfits under the "SHOP" tab as well. Sorry, that I'be been MIA lately. If you didn't already hear, my husband came back home from deployment Monday night! To be able to have him home safe and sound is a huge blessing. I'll be sure to share that story later this week. We've been trying to get settled and adjusted in our new home. It has been crazy! Wish us luck!
