2015 will definitely be a hard year to beat. I'm anxious but excited to see what is to come in 2016 for us. My New Years resolution is pretty simple... to live and be happy in the moment, spend more quality time with family, incorporate fitness more into my life, and connect and meet more of my amazing followers, fellow bloggers, and buisnesses. Thank you for supporting my family and blog over the past two months, everyone's kind words and positivity means the world to me. I can't wait to share more of my fashion inspirations and family adventures with yall!

DRESS: Topshop (less than $70!) // SHOES: Steve Madden // BAG: Chanel (less expensive version here) // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker // EARRINGS: Baublebar // RING: Kendra Scott // Mini- Janie & Jack  // SHOES: Freshly Picked

I hope everyone is ready for New Years Eve!

I have never worn an all sequined outfit for New Years Eve so this year I decided that it was time! Even though I plan on spending time with my family at home watching fireworks, I thought it would be fun to share with you this gorgeous dress from Topshop (I'm wearing a size 6 for reference). Topshop has a beautiful sparkly selection of pieces for New Years Eve, this one being my favorite. I love that this mini dress is a bit looser than others. I paired my outfit with a cream Chanel so my outfit wasn't too dark and harsh (this stunning Chanel is my aunts, she lets me borrow it from time to time).

Isn't Liam's outfit adorable?! I love when he is apart of the shoots, they are always so fun and his laugh and smiles are too adorable not to share.
I’m usually excited about a new year, but not this time. 2015 has been the BEST year of my life! God has given me so many blessings. I want to share a few events that happened this year that mean the most to me.

I’ll start at the beginning, In January Tommy surprised with a trip to my favorite place…New York City. It was funny because for weeks he told me that we were taking a camping trip in January so be prepared to take some time off (at work) and I thought it was strange because I wouldn’t consider myself an “outdoorsy” girl. On our first night (January 2nd) we went to The Empire State Building, the lines were extremely long but Tommy was set on going to the top. When we arrived to the top, the view was breathtaking!! I have never seen such a beautiful city. Tommy kept asking people around us to take a picture but no one spoke English, so he was getting very frustrated (I thought he was overreacting lol). He finally found someone to take our picture and just as turned around to get ready for the picture, I looked down and saw Tommy on one knee proposing to me. I was so shocked and flustered…I froze for a while staring at the ring because it was beautiful and I couldn’t believe that it was actually happening. Of course, I said yes and couldn’t stop crying for the rest of the night. We spent the entire weekend in New York celebrating our felt like we were in a movie. We got married on May 5th, 2015 and plan on having our wedding March of 2017.

July 20th, 2015 is a day that I will never forget…our son Liam Stephen Brooks Mescall was born. That morning, I was having cramps so I called the Dr. (not thinking that I was in labor AT ALL & because Liam was due on the 24th) to see if I should head to the hospital. When I got examined, my nurse told me that I was in fact in early labor and that the baby is coming. I quickly called Tommy and told him to fly to Texas RIGHT NOW! I was looking for flights from Colorado to Texas and then when I found one, I called Tommy but his phone was dead. I called him for about 3 hours freaking out about why he wasn’t answering. A few hours passed and I got an epidural. I was crying majority of the time because I thought Tommy was going to miss the birth of our son. Then, I got a phone call from Tommy telling me that he had planned a surprise visit weeks ago and that he was in Texas on his way to the hospital. Liam came about an hour after Tommy arrived. My labor was rather quick and practically painless (I got lucky). I will never forget seeing our baby’s precious face and tiny toes and fingers for the first time. That little boy is my whole world, everything I do, I do for him. It was by far the happiest day of our lives.

Lastly, the launch of my own fashion and lifestyle blog was one of the biggest highlights of 2015. For years, I contemplated on creating a blog and with the support of my hubby and friends, The Annie Issue was up on November 30th. A week after my blog launched, I decided to apply for Reward Style (thinking that I wouldn't get accepted because my site was only up for a short amount of time), and when I received an email that I had gotten approved, my heart was filled with joy. I was extremely proud that I had accomplish this goal so early on. I am so in love with F&L blogging. I have met so many kind and beautiful bloggers, this community is continuously supportive of one another. I don't know what I would do without the support of my followers and fellow bloggers. I love each and every one of you. I have big plans for The Annie Issue in 2016!

Thank you for reading! Happy Holidays!

PONCHO: HM (under $35, love this one) // TEE: BP // LEGGINGS: BP (on sale) // BOOTS: Steve Madden // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker // BAG: Chanel // EARRINGS: Baublebar // WATCH: Michael Kors

Is anyone else in disbelief at the fact that Christmas is over?! I had such a wonderful day with my family. Tommy and I always spend Christmas Eve with my family and then Christmas Day with his. We had an incredibly busy Christmas the morning we went to his mom's for breakfast, then early afternoon we were at his dad's to open gifts, then we made a quick stop at my grandparents house to say hi, then we drove to Houston to have lunch at his aunts (which is the most beautiful/biggest house I've ever seen! Our family picture on my instagram was taken there.), THEN back to Tommy's dad's house for dinner (thank goodness Liam is great at going places!) Driving to four different homes in one day is pretty stressful, but Liam had an amazing first Christmas being surrounded by family and friends.

So, todays outfit is one of my favs! I love the over the knee boots and poncho trend this season. There are so many ways that you can style these pieces...add a pair of tights and layer them with shorts, flaunt your outfit with skirts, edge them up with leather leggings, or throw on some jeans or leggings for a chic casual look. I rounded up some other ponchos and OTK boots below too.

Thank you so much for reading!

DRESS: Nordstrom (love this one!) // BOOTS: Steve Madden // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker // EARRINGS: Kendra Scott // BAG: Chanel (less expensive here)

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

I've been wearing a lot of green and red festive outfits so I wanted to switch it up a little bit and go with something more neutral. Today is Liam's first Christmas Eve and I'm so excited to gather around our family members and open presents at my grandparents house tonight. (My family can never wait until Christmas morning, lol.)

I hope yall have a wonderful day with your families and loved ones.

COAT: Shein (only $32) // TUNIC: BP // LEGGINGS: Nordstrom (on sale for $29!) // SHOES: Franco Sarto (old, similar here) // BEANIE: David & Young (similar here) // SCARF Old Navy // BAG: Tory Burch // SUNGLASSES: Ray-bans // RING: Kendra Scott (sold out, love this one) // BRACELET: Kendra Scott (old, similar here)

Hi! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday.

Liam and I are going to San Antonio today to have a "family" Christmas with my best friends, Jessica and Weston. This is our third year doing this (1st year for Liam) and I always have an amazing time. We would get each other presents, eat dinner, and then watch a doesn't sound like much but I love spending this time with them.

Anyways, I want to share my favorite color combo with yall...camel and black. I love both of these colors separately and even more paired together. Camel has always been a signature coat color and for good reasons. It pairs well with all colors, it gives off a chic look, and the neutral tones give it a more expensive feel.

I went out of my element with this outfit by adding multiple textures and a leopard beanie. This look is more of a "street style" look; compared to my other chic camel and black post here. I found my coat at Shein and was kind of iffy about the material considering the low price, but when it arrived in the mail I was extremely pleased. (It's on the thinner side, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're needing a thick warm coat.) I can't get enough of these colors, what are your favorite pairing colors?

Thank you so much for reading.

EARRINGS: Kendra Scott // NECKLACE: Baublebar // BRACELET: Kendra Scott // JACKET: Old Navy // SCARF: Free People // SHAKER: Kate Spade // HIGHLIGHTER: Bobbi Brown // PUMPS: Topshop // SLIPPERS: J Crew // BATH SET: Philosophy // SWEATER: J Crew (30% off) // PERFUME: Tory Burch // BAG: Kate Spade

Christmas is approaching and if you're anything like me, you're probably at the mall on Christmas Eve buying last minute gifts. I try every year not to do this, but procrastination gets the best of me. I rounded up a couple of my favorite pieces on this gift guide that I believe anyone would love to unwrap. The best part is that they are all under $100 (yes, even the Kate Spade cross body!).

If you're kind of iffy about what to get, one of my favorite items on this list are the Kendra Scott earrings, definitely a staple piece. When I worked at Kendra, everyone loved this style... moms, sisters, best friends, cousins, girlfriends, and grandmothers (if they already have white, I would go with cobalt blue, so pretty). Some other ones that I love are the Kate Spade shaker (it's so cute!) and the gold house slippers (the comfiest shoes).

My hubby is off for the next 20 something days and I'm so excited! He always works long hours on base, so it's rare that we spend morning and afternoons together. We can't wait to spend time with our families and friends these next 9 days in Texas.

I hope yall are having a wonderful time with your loved ones this holiday.

SWEATER: HM (love this one!) // LEGGINGS: BP // SHOES: Hunter // EARRINGS: Baublebar // SOCKS: Nordstrom // BEANIE: old (similar here) // LIP: Clinique

So, I am in LOVE with this sweater! I saw it on the HM site and knew that it would be perfect for Vail (and because Katy Perry was wearing it! lol ). It's so thick and cozy AND less than $ would be a great gift for a sister, cousin, or best friend.

I apologize in advance if all I wear are hunter boots... I don't know what I would do without them. I feel as if I can conquer the world in them. Being able to walk (or in my case run or jump) in rain or snow without having to worry about ruining your shoes has got to be one of the best feelings ever! The weather socks that I'm wearing (not pictured) are really great if you're needing thick socks.

Tommy and I decided that we wanted to celebrate Christmas with just our little family, so tomorrow night we are going to open gifts, watch a Christmas movie, drink hot chocolate, and drive around the neighborhood. What are your plans for Christmas?

*attempt at a family photo, Liam is clearly not having it, lol*

Vail Racquet Club: We stayed here, it was located about 10 minutes away from the ski resort and villages. They have shuttles that run every hour, which is very convienent if you aren't comfortable with driving in the snow. Our room had a full size living room, kitchen, bedroom, and fireplace... it felt very homey. Our room was in the back and we had a beautiful view of the mountains and trees.

Vail Cascade Resort and Spa: This hotel is right in the middle of Vail Village. I've always heard positive things about this hotel. You can see the ski lifts, town, and mountain from this hotel...all really amazing views.

Bart & Yetis: It's a small burger restaurant located in Lionshead Village...a pleasant place to get a quick bite to eat.

Pazzo's Pizzeria: This place is DELICIOUS!!! They have a combo appetizer platter that consists of wings, chicken tenders, cheese sticks, and jalapeƱo poppers! I highly recommend getting the Spinach Manicotti.

Vail Village: This village has tons of places to shop and eat. They hold many festivals throughout the year...we actually saw a band play without realizing that there was a music festival going on that weekend. They turn on the lights at night, it's a beautiful place to walk around.

Lionshead Village: This place is located next to Vail Village and they have a couple of cute little ski stores, bakeries, and small places to eat.

Gondola ride: We didn't do this, but Vail offers scenic rides to the top of the mountain.

Covered Bridge Store: This isn't an actual store; it's a pretty cool covered bridge that is located in Vail Village. There are small shops and coffee places that surround it.
